About the Research Project

Competencies

Sefa offers you the chance to gain new insights into doing business in Brazil, completely specified to your needs. Our project offers you high quality and tailor made research at cost price, conducted by the most talented and motivated Economics and Business students of the University of Amsterdam.

TAILOR MADE RESEARCH
We will discuss your specific requirements beforehand, and we will discuss the progress of the research with you on a regular basis.

COST PRICE AND COST TRANSPARENCY
The project is nonprofit, so we can be completely transparent about the cost structure. Additionally, we are continuously aspiring to explore ways to save costs, for example by making use of your own network in Brazil.

TALENTED STUDENTS
All consultants have gone through a rigorous selection procedure before being accepted. Moreover, they are intrinsically motivated, because they receive no credits for the project and pay a substantial contribution of their own.

EXPERIENCES FROM PREVIOUS RESEARCH
Sefa has organized the Research Project in previous years with great success in emerging economies such as South Africa, Indonesia and India. Experiences with the project from participating companies can be found here.

GUIDANCE AND TRAINING
The consultants are in the final stages of their study and receive guidance from teachers and professors at the University of Amsterdam. They will also receive professional training from several companies such as Randstad, AT Kearney, Roland Berger and Talent & Pro.

Phases

The Research Project has a structured course of preparation, execution and presentation of the results. If you are interested in a collaboration, there will be several non-commital, exploratory meetings. We will be using those meetings to write a tailor-made research proposal. Below the three consecutive phases are further explained.

PHASE 1: DESK RESEARCH (UNTIL JULY 2012)
If the research proposal is approved, the desk research starts. The consultants gather all necessary information about your company and the destination, so that the field research in Brazil can be as efficient and concise as possible.

PHASE 2: FIELD RESEARCH (IN JULY & AUGUST 2012)
Once in Brazil, the consultants will execute their research for you. They will work on location 40
hours per week for four weeks to carry out the fieldwork. Meanwhile, they keep you informed of significant developments.

PHASE 3: REPORTING (SEPTEMBER OR OCTOBER 2012)
When the consultants come back to the Netherlands, a report is written. This report will be handed over to you on a predetermined date. Upon request this can be accompanied by a presentation of the results.
